ADAS Part 2; Air Diving to 30m AS2815.2 (Certificate IV in Occupational Diving)
This course is to prepare divers for work in the construction diving industry. The emphasis of the course is to develop competence in occupational scuba divers in:
- working safely and effectively as members of a construction dive team
- using modern surface supplied band masks and demand helmets with effective communications
- safely using a variety of pneumatic and hydraulic power tools
- a variety of demanding underwater construction and inspection and survey tasks.
This standard specifies the training activities and competencies required for the training and accreditation of divers who are required to work safely and competently-
a. Using surface supplied underwater breathing apparatus (SSBA) to depths of 30m.
b. On sites where no surface compression chambers are required to be present on site.
This is the second level of accreditation as an occupational diver and it covers occupational onshore AIR Diving. Divers in this category are competent in the use of surface supplied breathing apparatus, cutting and welding equipment, pneumatic or hydraulic tools, video and still photography. It is equivalent to HSE Part 3 (UK).
ADAS Certificates of Competency qualify you for entry into the workplace, but the ADAS AQF certificates and diplomas are awarded in recognition of your academic achievement in qualifying as an ADAS diver. At the completion of this course you will be awarded a certificate IV in Occupational Diving as the first step in the pathway to a Diploma of Occupational Diving.
