Last week of our level two course and we have plenty to still fit in. A Ffw more days diving, more theory to complete, final exam and a big end of course clean up. So we make an early start today to head to Dartmouth Dam to complete the deeper range of dives. Dartmouth Dam is a spectacular wilderness area about 100km from Albury. The attraction is water depths of up to 140m deep. Dartmouth Dam holds eight times the volume of Sydney Harbour. Today we are looking for only 30m the last of level 2 training. The end of our level two training is now within reach.

Pre-dive checks
Now the real fun starts - the Borocco ultrathermic cutter is a very special tool. It burns at 1200 deg.F at the tip and can cut almost anything including, steel, concrete, ceramics and marine growth. It's the ultimate demolition tool. All students do a dry run on the surface then it's time for cutting railway track underwater. Then it's on to wet stick welding and all students achieve the task but much practice is needed to become a skilled welder.
Wednesday 17th June
Today we are off to The Pit and the students get to put into practice the brocco cutting that they have learnt about this week in the classroom. They have had a dry run in the car park but now it's their chance to try it out in the water. All students do well with the task.
Thursday 18th June
Back to 'The Pit' to complete all outstanding tasks. Still photography using the state of the art Nikon 5000,000 pixel digital camera housed in a Subal aluminum housing and using the Nikon strobe, high pressure water jet task and the dredging task are all completed. Another long day but a fun day using big boy's toys.

Staff standby Mark
Bright and early students arrived after a big night of study (cramming) for the final exam. The final level 2 exam incorporates not only everything we have learnt on level 2, but also everything we covered on level one. It took everyone 3 - 4 hours to complete. We then marked and reviewed the exam with everyone passing exceptionally well. After some big sighs of relief we finished the day off with maintenance and a big clean up.
