SSI Dive Control Specialist
Take the big step to become a diving professional, this course is the initial dive leadership level and is considered by many as the "fun" leadership rating. It's fun and satisfying because you can do more than any other entry-level dive leader, you become an Assistant Instructor! This qualification allows you to;

Teach the scuba skills update program to qualified divers

Teach snorkel diving & issue snorkel diving qualifications

Lead dives for qualified divers

Assist certified instructors in pool, open water and classroom presentations

Teach classroom and pool presentations under direct supervision of an SSI instructor

Act as a Dive Master, working on dive boats and take certified divers diving

Have access to instructor programs
Prerequisites

Be 18 years of age

Have logged over 60 open water dives
-
Be certified as an SSI Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent (4 specialty courses & 24 dives)

Own your own equipment of leadership quality

Have a current medical
-
Current CPR & First Aid certification
-
Stress Rescue certification
Swim Test

300m no aides, no time limit
-
800m snorkel gear in 17mins
-
10min survival float
Format
Two full weekends plus 3 theory nights (course time), plus 2 complete student courses including 2 weekends at Queensliff/Portsea included in prac.
Cost: $1200.00 - includes Dive Con package (includes student package cost $300), certification card and diploma, all instruction and air fills, 10 Student course dives, (6 shore and 4 boat dives) 4 nights accommodation and breakfast .
Additional costs are travel to Queenscliff / Portsea and meals other than breakfast.
